MFT Trustee named as No:1 RIBA Rising Star 2017 by the Royal Institute of British Architects

It is an honour for us to announce that Mannan Foundation's Co-Founder and Trustee Tumpa Husna Yasmin Fellows has been awarded the RIBA Rising Stars Awarda and named as no:1 in the list of 10 Rising Stars for 2017. 

Our Head Trustee Mrs. Razia Begum Mannan collected the award on behalf of Tumpa. 

It is an endorsement and recognition of the work Mannan Foundation Trust is carrying out. We would like to congratulate all our supporters and helpers who contributed towards the Rajapur Women's Literacy and Healthcare Centre project.

Here is an extract from the RIBA Journal; "Overall, the judges praised Fellows for ‘having it all’ – natural leadership, a collaborative mindset, energy, social awareness and a hard-working attitude. Mark Skelly thinks she demonstrated a lot of drive in picking up her father’s charity, while Mary Duggan says she is simply incredible."

MFT Trustee awarded Royal Institute of British Architect - Rising Star Award

We are delighted to announce, Mannan Foundation's Co-Founder and Trustee Tumpa Husna Yasmin Fellows has been nominated and awarded the RIBA Rising Stars Award. 

Tumpa was commended for addressing the social, economical and environmental issues faced by disadvantaged rural communities, through the project Rajapur Women's Literacy & Healthcare Centre. The judges expressed Tumpa to be "A kind of Francis Kéré in the making". 

The RIBA Journal states; "Overall, the judges praised Fellows for ‘having it all’ – natural leadership, a collaborative mindset, energy, social awareness and a hard-working attitude. Free Health Camp in Rajapur Village - September 2017

Mannan Foundation's Co-Founder and Trustee Dr Nilufar Fatema Luna hosted our recent free health camp in Rajapur. We are delighted to have our youngest volunteer in the health camp Sharar Chowdhury, who volunteered his time to assist the doctor during the busy health camp. The villagers expressed their gratitude for these free services which are always very much appreciated. Amongst the patients the doctor has treated mostly women and the children, however some of the patients were men. The majority of the women in remote villages do not see a doctor as they are usually male doctors. Having a female doctor running these free helathcamps allowed us to give services to the most needy and disadvantaged women who are grateful to see our friendly doctor Dr Nilufar Fatema Luna. They are able to confide in her as she is known to them and treats the villagers frequently. On behalf of Mannan Foundation Trust and the villagers, we'd like to thank you Dr Nilufar Fatema and also our congratulations to Sharar Chowdhury for volunteering and achieving such a good work.

Rajapur Project Exhibition in London Festival of Architecture - June 2017

Mannan Foundation Trust, MFT is delighted to be part of this year's London Festival of Architecture. Our Rajapur Women's Literacy and Healthcare project was exhibited at Proctor and Matthews LFA event. Thank you to all those who worked with us to make it a successful evening. Our gratitude to Alex Ford (graphics designer and a supporter of MFT) for designing the exhibition boards. On behalf of Mannan Foundation Trust, we would like to thank Proctor and Matthews Architects for introducing the Rajapur project in the London Festival of Architecture event. The event was attended by hundreds of people who enjoyed the exhibition, the speeches, discussions and the food (which carried the MFT's theme of World Food); a mixture of canapés were served from all corners of the world by the international team of volunteers from Proctor and Matthews office.
